GIRTEKA LOGISTICS INSTALLED AN EDUCATIONAL AREA FOR REFLECTORS IN CATHEDRAL SQUARE, VILNIUS

For a decade now, Travellers and Drivers Day has been marked in Lithuania. Thus, the Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communications invited everyone to attend the “Be Visible and Safe” event, to encourage safe behaviour on the road and remind about the importance to wear the reflectors during darker hours of the day.

To encourage road safety initiatives, we set up a stage on one of our trailers in the Cathedral Square, and an educational reflector area inside the other. All interested visitors could enter the darkened interior of the educational trailer and, by the use of torches, they could see how to wear the reflectors correctly, as well as where and when should they be worn.

Many inquisitive visitors also had an opportunity to climb into the truck and sit behind the wheel, while our Drivers Academy instructors, Darius Visakavičius and Andrej Kreč, explained to them about the truck’s technical abilities and encouraged the visitors to stay safe and visible on the road.

Road safety is one of the top priorities in the area of social responsibility for Girteka Logistics. We continuously take part in events that encourage road safety education, because every person on the road is not only responsible for themselves, but also for the others around them.
