Volvo Trucks secures major order of 1,800 Volvo FH from Girteka Logistics

Volvo Trucks has signed a framework agreement covering delivery of 1,800 new Volvo FH trucks to Girteka Logistics, Europe’s biggest FTL transport company. The deal includes a record breaking 900 units of Volvo FH with I-Save, Volvo Trucks´ latest innovative fuel saving technology that can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 7%*. In January 2020, the first trucks will be delivered.  

European road transport giant Girteka Logistics is a growing company that will use the new vehicles to both renew its current 7,000 trucks fleet and further grow its long haul fleet in Europe, Scandinavia and Russia. With the new order Girteka Logistics will be operating more than 6,000 Volvo trucks in their fleet.

Within the deal Girteka Logistics will acquire a record 900 units of Volvo FH with I-Save technology.

The highly efficient D13TC engine and the comprehensive driver fuel efficiency aid packages deliver improved fuel-saving features that can reduce fuel costs by up to 7 percent*. Thanks to the Turbo Compound technology, the engine provides more efficient combustion and produces up to 300 Nm of extra torque with fewer revolutions and fuel required to maintain a constant speed. The Long Haul Fuel package provides additional fuel efficiency thanks to the latest Volvo I-See predictive cruise control that utilizes map based technology for optimized gear shifting.

The 4×2 and 6×2 configuration trucks will be equipped with the latest 460 and 500 hp Euro 6 Step D 13-litre engines, I-Shift automated gearboxes and Globetrotter XL cabs with the latest safety and fuel efficiency features maximizing the most efficient use of the trucks automatic fuel saving features for long haul assignments.
